In this procedure, the underlying abdominal muscular wall is also tightened. The belly button (umbilicus) is also re-contoured. This procedure not only tightens the skin in the up/down direction, but also side to side, providing a cinching effect of the lower abdomen. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
